Shellac polishes are thick and gloopy but brand new!

One thing to be aware of when you get a new shellac check the brush, if there looks to be lumps etc or it looks bitty then chances are the brush has packing starch in it, you must remove this before you use the shellac or your application will be awful.

To do this get a nail wipe and saturate it with acetone and wrap it round the brush and pull all the excess product off, repeat until the brush is completely clean then replace in the bottle.

Sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't but now you are aware of what to do if you come across it.

With regards to it being thick it could be that it's slightly cold, if after being at room temperature for a good few hours.

Don't forget these products are stored in a warehouse then sent out, overnight they may be in a unheated storage facility for the courier, if its been really cold overnight which it has been the last few days then that could explain it when you got it.
